Blueprint Expert Reference Group Meeting Communiqué Tuesday 16 April 2024
The Blueprint Expert Reference Group (BERG) held an in-person all-day workshop on 16 April 2024. The focus was on progressing the Not-for-Profit Sector Development Blueprint (NFP Blueprint) in preparation for the next phase of targeted consultations, to be held in May and June 2024. The BERG was eager to work through the latest Blueprint draft and progress it to the next stage of development.
The Blueprint’s ten-year roadmap will outline a new plan and reform agenda driven by the NFP sector. It identifies the necessary principles, priorities and actions to ensure Australia's NFP sector continues to fulfil its critical role and help address future challenges within the Australian community.
The BERG highlighted the critical role the not-for-profit (NFP) sector plays in creating a thriving society, as well as the significant contribution that it makes to the Australian economy. Discussions on the day centred around settling the actions the BERG would include in the NFP Blueprint and the key principles that will underpin the implementation. The BERG was keen to ensure that the Blueprint would inspire change and build sector influence throughout the life of the Blueprint and beyond. The BERG also emphasised the importance of establishing a governance infrastructure that will effectively guide, monitor and report on implementation.
