The Families and Communities Service Improvement (FCSI) activity builds capacity by funding peak bodies in service improvement initiatives.
About the Families and Communities Service Improvement
The FCSI activity aims to build capacity within the families and communities sector. The activity funds peak bodies so they can provide:
- conferences
- research
- pilots
- policy advice
- evaluations
- other service improvement initiatives.
There are 6 peak bodies funded to deliver sector development and policy advice:
- Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth Limited(Opens in a new tab/window) (ARACY)
- Economic Justice Australia(Opens in a new tab/window) (EJA)
- Families Australia(Opens in a new tab/window)
- Family Relationship Services Australia(Opens in a new tab/window) (FRSA)
- The Australian Council of Social Service Inc.(Opens in a new tab/window) (ACOSS)
- Volunteering Australia(Opens in a new tab/window).
These peak organisations:
- are national in scope
- have a broad membership base across Australia
- are concerned with the needs of family and/or community services in Australian communities
- share information from Government with their membership base
- work to enhance the effectiveness of service delivery through sector development activities
- have a primary focus on policy development and advice.
