The Safe Places Inclusion Round grant opportunity is now open on GrantConnect(Opens in a new tab/window).

The grants will support organisations to create new emergency accommodation for those experiencing family and domestic violence.

As part of the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022-2032, the Australian Government committed $100 million over 5 years from 2022 to 2027 to continue the Safe Places Emergency Accommodation Program.

Of this, up to $90.9 million is available for grants over 4 years (2023-24 to 2026-27).

The Safe Places Emergency Accommodation Program (Safe Places) provides capital grants. The grants fund the building, renovation or purchase of new emergency accommodation for women and children experiencing violence.

The focus of the Inclusion Round is to improve access to safe, secure and appropriate emergency accommodation for:

  • First Nations women and children
  • Women and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Women and children with disability.

Virtual information sessions will be held shortly after the opening of the Safe Places Inclusion Round to assist organisations to apply for a grant.

Submissions close 14 November 2023.
