Updated Activities Addendum for ending gender-based violence

The First Action Plan 2023-2027 Activities Addendum under the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022-2032 is now updated and available to view. 

The Australian, state and territory governments have committed to ending violence against women and children in Australia in one generation. This signifies our collective agreement that women and children have the right to live free from fear and violence, and to be safe in their homes, workplaces, schools, in the community and online. 

There has been a great effort across the broader Australian community and Australian governments to address violence against women and their children. This work builds on substantial efforts under the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022-2032 (National Plan) that all Australian governments are undertaking to contribute towards ending-gender based violence. 

To ensure accountability and transparency, our progress against implementing the 10 actions of the First Action Plan 2023-2027 (First Action Plan) is set out in the Activities Addendum. This will be publicly updated each year to demonstrate progress over time towards ending gender-based violence.

While many of the activities listed are funded by the Australian, state and territory governments, we recognise that there are also collaborative and innovative examples of work underway to improve services and systems that are not funded by governments.

The first annual update to the Activities Addendum provides a progress update on each of the 463 activities that the Australian, state and territory governments will undertake over the life of the First Action Plan. 

The National Plan acknowledges there will be emerging areas of need and emerging forms of violence that will be addressed over the life of the National Plan. Sixty-six activities that respond to emerging areas have been captured in the first annual update.
