Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program
About the Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program
As part of the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF), the Australian Government committed to provide $100 million for crisis and transitional housing options for:
- women and children experiencing family and domestic violence
- older women at risk of homelessness.
This will be delivered through the Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program. The Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program is a 5 year capital works grant program which will fund the building, remodelling or purchase of new or expanded crisis or transitional accommodation.
This commitment aligns with the Government’s broader housing and women’s safety agendas, including the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022 2032. The program will complement the Government’s existing investment in crisis accommodation for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence, through the Safe Places Emergency Accommodation Program.
