About financial counselling 

Financial counselling can help address financial problems experienced by people affected by gambling harm.  

Counsellors can provide support, including: 

  • access to information 
  • advocacy and/or negotiation 
  • referrals to other services 
  • education.  

Eligibility  

You can access this service if you are unable to pay a bill or are at risk of not being able to pay a bill. 

Support available now

If you need support, you can contact National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007 or visit the website. The helpline is open from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.  

You can also speak to a Financial Counsellor through the National Debt Helpline online chat service. Online chat is open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday to Friday.  

Calls from public phones/mobile phones may be timed and charged at a higher rate.
