On 29 September 2023, the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (Disability Royal Commission) released its final report.

In recognition of the significant scale of reform recommended by the Disability Royal Commission, the Australian Government has established a Commonwealth Disability Royal Commission Taskforce (Taskforce) within the Department of Social Services.
