The Australian Government is forming a Parents and Carers Reference Group to help implement the Early Years Strategy. The Reference Group will also help shape the future of policies and services for children (aged 0 to 12) and their families.

The Reference Group will consist of around 20 members. It will provide a forum to hear from parents and carers on future reform activity and new policies and programs for children aged 0 to 12 years. The Reference Group will provide opportunities to hear directly from children on matters that affect them.

Members will be appointed by the Hon Amanda Rishworth MP, Minister for Social Services.

Reference group members will share their views and knowledge on the needs of children aged 0 to 12 and give feedback on Government policy and services. Members will meet at least 3 times per year with additional meetings as needed. They may also be asked to review materials, provide feedback or participate in engagement activities between meetings.

Feedback from the Reference Group will help the Australian Government make decisions and improve policies for children and their families. If you are a parent or carer and would like to make a difference for the future of Australia’s children, we need your voice.
