Held at the United Nations Headquarters from 13 to 15 June 2023, COSP16 is the most significant and diverse meeting of people with disability in the world. It involves delegations from countries that have ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities(Opens in a new tab/window) (UNCRPD).

COSP16 provides a platform for Australia to pursue opportunities for international cooperation on disability inclusion.

Australia’s 14 disability community representatives are civil society delegates, independent from the government and business sectors. At COSP16 they have a unique opportunity to represent Australia’s diverse disability community on the world stage.

The civil society delegates are supported to attend COSP16 through targeted funding provided by the Australian Government’s Supporting Participation Program.
