Establishment of the new Administrative Review Tribunal
On 28 May 2024, the Australian Parliament passed legislation to abolish the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) and replace it with a new body called the Administrative Review Tribunal(Opens in a new tab/window) (ART).
The ART formally commenced on 14 October 2024.
All decisions made by the AAT remain valid and final.
Any remaining cases are transitioning to the ART. If NDIS Appeals Program clients applied to the AAT for review of a decision, they will not need to submit a new application for review to the ART.
