National Disability Abuse and Neglect Hotline Data

The National Disability Abuse and Neglect Hotline (The Hotline) is a free, independent and confidential service. You can call the Hotline to report abuse and neglect of people with disability in Commonwealth, State and Territory funded disability services.

Anyone can contact the Hotline including:

  • family members
  • friends
  • service providers
  • people with disability.

The Hotline is not a complaints resolution service or an individual advocacy service.

Hotline staff work with callers to find appropriate ways of dealing with reports of abuse and neglect. Staff may refer reports to complaints handling mechanisms in the relevant state and territory. They may also refer to other complaints handling bodies such as the various Ombudsman, Anti-Discrimination Boards and the Complaints Resolution and Referral Service (CRRS).
