Clare Gibellini is the new Chair of the National Disability Research Partnership (NDRP), a key initiative under Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-2031.

The NDRP funds research that is led and informed by people with disability. This research will inform better policies and practices, which will help improve the lives of people with disability.

Clare has worked in the disability sector for 16 years. She has lived experience of autism and is Co-Chair of the National Autism Strategy Oversight Council. As the NDRP Chair, Clare will lead the NDRP’s work to:

  • advance research that informs disability policy in Australia
  • value the knowledge of people with disability in research
  • strengthen disability research capacity
  • share research findings in useful and accessible ways.

Clare will also lead the NDRP’s Research Agenda, which will guide its research over the next 10 years. The agenda was developed with people with disability and organisations who speak up for people with disability.

The NDRP was established after extensive consultation with the disability community.
