A joint project between the Australian Government and the Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA) will receive almost $1 million. The project will build the capability of professionals so they are better equipped to work with people with disability.

The project will deliver a Disability Best Practice Guide and Action Plan by August 2022. These documents target professionals in the following sectors:

  • health
  • education
  • social sciences
  • justice.

The Disability Best Practice Guide and Action Plan will give educational institutions and professional bodies the tools to help professionals be confident and respond positively to people with disability.

This project is part of Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-2031 Community Attitudes Targeted Action Plan.
