About government inquiries
Parliamentary inquiries investigate:
- policy matters
- government administration
- government performance.
The committees that run inquiries come from:
- the Senate
- the House of Representatives
- both (called joint committees).
When the committee completes its inquiry, it tables a report in parliament. Where the inquiry is relevant to our portfolio, we respond to these reports and state what we intend to do.
We also respond to Royal Commissions conducted by the Productivity Commission.
Find more information by the year that the inquiry was released.
