National Carer Strategy Advisory Committee

The National Carer Strategy Advisory Committee supports the development and implementation of the Strategy.

Purpose and role

The National Carer Strategy Advisory Committee was established in April 2024.

The committee has provided valuable feedback during the extensive consultation process and members were pivotal in the development of the draft National Carer Strategy.

Terms of Reference

Committee members met on 4 June 2024 and endorsed the Terms of Reference.

Membership

Members of the committee were selected through an open expression of interest process undertaken by the Department of Social Services.

The committee currently consists of 2 co-chairs and 13 members from the carer community and carer sector. Members represent a broad range of unpaid carers, including carers from diverse cultures, ethnicities, ages, sexuality and from different regions across Australia.
