Applications for the 2025 Graduate Development Program are now open.
Are you finishing university this year and considering your career options? Have you completed your degree in the last 5 years, and are curious, inquisitive and want to make a difference to improving the wellbeing of Australians?
The program starts in February 2025 and offers graduates a variety of interesting and challenging work. You will have access to professional development and on-the-job training, including networking, mentoring and coaching from Senior Executive staff.
You start at the APS 3 classification and progress to APS 5 on successful completion of the program. You will need to complete 2 five-month work area placements (rotations) across the department.
Graduates are based in Canberra with limited opportunities in our state offices. Relocation costs are covered if you need to move to undertake the program.
DSS supports an inclusive and diverse workforce and encourages graduates with disability, cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds or identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, to apply.
To apply, you need to be an Australian citizen and have completed your degree in the last 5 years, up to December 2024.
