Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program Grant Round Open Now
2 October 2024As part of the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF), the Australian Government committed to provide $100 million over 5 years for crisis and transitional housing options for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence, and older women at risk of homelessness.
Family and domestic violence is one of the leading causes of homelessness for women and children. Older women are at a high risk of homelessness due to accumulated economic disadvantage over their lifetimes.
The Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program is a capital works grant program that will fund the building, remodelling or purchase of new or expanded crisis or transitional accommodation. It will complement the Government’s existing investment in crisis accommodation for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence, through the Safe Places Emergency Accommodation Program.
The program also aligns with the government’s broader housing and ending gender-based violence agenda, including the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022 2032.
The Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program round closes on Wednesday 13 November 2024, 9:00 PM AEDT.
