Fourth Action Plan 2019-2022
On Friday 9 August 2019, the Council of Australian Governments endorsed the Fourth Action Plan of the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010-2022 (the 2010-2022 National Plan), agreeing on five national priorities to reduce family, domestic and sexual violence.
As the final action plan of the 2010-2022 National Plan series, the Fourth Action Plan set out an ambitious but practical agenda to achieve change and eradicate the unacceptable acts of violence against women and their children.

Fourth Action Plan consultations
The Fourth Action Plan was informed by stakeholder feedback from over 600 individuals and 400 organisations, and evidence and data gathered through the Third Action Plan. The Fourth Action Plan reflected and built on the outcomes of the First, Second and Third Action Plans to create lasting change. Between July and October 2018, the Department and its state and territory counterparts held 30 consultations to inform the development of the Fourth Action Plan.
This included the Council of Australian Governments’ (COAG) National Summit on Reducing Violence against Women, held on 2 - 3 October 2018, which was attended by over 100 community leaders and key stakeholders.
The outcomes of the Summit were shared in a statement to COAG in December 2018, with First Ministers agreeing the COAG statement would inform the Fourth Action Plan.
These consultations engaged with a broad range of stakeholders including service providers, advocates, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, women with disability, people with diverse gender and sexual identities and women in rural and remote areas.
